    Abstract: China’s economy is developing rapidly in the past few years. China’s economic output and productivity has been greatly improved. However, today’s China also facing many problems. One of the most serious problems which The Chinese Government has to meet during next few years is labor shortage. In this essay, I will find out the causes and consequences of China’s labor shortage. Furthermore, I will compare today’s china’s demographic situation with 1980’s Japan which is very similar to today’s China and try to find out how labor shortage may change China’s current economic structure in the future.

  • OPEN INNOVATION -Current state and future perspectives in the specialty chemical industry

    Abstract: A general view of open innovation was painted from the literature and it was shown that little work has been done to understand the relationship between industry specificities and open innovation, especially for mature industries such as the chemical industry. The structure and challenges of this industry were studied to understand the role of innovation in each of its sub-segment. Then one sub-market, the specialty chemicals, was investigated in more details. Findings from the case study of one typical specialty chemical company, Rhodia, were analyzed to build some simplified models and frameworks. From this methodology, it was established that there is a strong imbalance between in and out-flows of knowledge showing that the specialty chemical industry is only partially applying open innovation principles. Finally, it was shown that in the future, this imbalance may result in some profound changes and evolutions that would impact the industry structure itself.

It come to be very important to develop workable human resources strategy, to make sure the human resource management is fully align with the business strategy of company, benefit to the innovation of products and solution, develop the competency to meet the growth and build up the sustainable competitive advantage. The purpose of this thesis is to: based on the industry background and company strategy and company human resource management status, considering the long term key successful factors of our company, use the tools of human resource strategic planning, to discuss the focus areas and implementation of human resource strategic plan. The human resource strategic plan is a strategic planning tool which will be used in this article, focusing on the company's future business and operating activities, to set up the human resources major focus areas including: staffing, training, performance management and people retention.

    Abstract: Nowadays China is a main destination for global companies to relocate expatriate employees. As Chinese culture is very unique and has long history, it strongly influences modern business culture of this country. Significant differences between Chinese and Western approaches of doing business have huge impact on cross cultural communication among expatriate and local employees at the international workplace. The expatriate adjustment process in China is very complex and became an important topic of international human resource management. The purpose of this thesis is to identify the possibilities to improve cross cultural communication issues in the multicultural business environment in China and to research the process of expatriate adjustment for international assignment in China in order to increase the rate of its success. This paper is targeted for expatriates who are planning relocation to China or already working here, as well as for international human resource and relocation industry professionals.
